I attended my first studio photography workshop on the 1st of August 2015. This was at David Birdsong's studio in Livonia, Michigan. The only reason i went to the photoshoot was because of the model and the theme. The model was Rachel Burford and the shoot was loosely based on a vintage theme.
Rachel is a beautiful model, no doubt about that, but the reason i wanted to photograph her was the work she does outside her modeling career. She is a addiction counsellor and studying psychology to better help her patients. She is a beautiful person with a sense of loss and pain in her eyes, but with a lot of joy and happiness too. She is an amazing model and makes the photographer's job very easy.
The photographs from the shoot are in the photoshoot section of the website ( link below)

I used my Nikon D700 with the 85mm lens, a Mamiya 645 ProTL with the 80mm and a Nikon FM2N with the 50mm. I was not very keen on the glamour fashion shoot with flash and background. I loved the environmental portraits of the model. I like editorial and fine art photography and want to make better photographs within this realm.
I hope you like the photographs and tell me what you think about it, and what else would you like to know The links to Rachel's facebook page, and Davis Birdsong's website are posted below
